Geniuses are those who can make complicated stuff simple. Idiots on the other hand, are those who can make simple stuff complicated.

Simplicity is the mark of a genius. Take Einstein for example. He was regarded as a genius not because of his awesome white hair and mustache, it’s his ability to simplify complex theories of matter and energy into the formula . When facing a math problem , do you make it more complicated? No! You simplify until it became the smallest number possible! Same thing with dealing with your life. You have to simplify your life as much as possible, only then it became manageable. And when life is manageable is often when people finds happiness.

You say it’s impossible.  You say life is complicated, with all your many responsibilities, roles, assignments, exams, career to think about, family, friends, financial matters, crimes in your neighborhood, the state of your favorite political party, the declining world economy, yada yada yada, and to simplify all of that is ridiculous, a distant fairy tale. Well, I never said that life ISN’T complicated. In fact, they are. Life is so complex, that it can easily overwhelms us.

See, the complexity of life is NOT something that we can control. It’s something we have to face. But what we CAN control is how we respond to life. The smart person is happy not because his life is perfect with no problems whatsoever. It’s because he’s able to keep his it simple. It’s just that simple.

Usually when we find out a secret to doing something complicated, like when we first learned to drive, isn’t it usually turns out to be something simple? All it takes is some practice.

There are also cases when people loves the complications of their life. That way they have things to hate & complain about. These kind of people seeks attention this way, and feels happy when people sympathize. The problem with this method to find happiness is it relies on other’s kindness to make them happy, and people’s  kindness and patience usually runs out. True happiness is from the inside, not outside.
